How to choose the right dash cam
- Budget, front + rear: DDPAI N2 or N3 Pro (GPS + 5GHz). The 70mai A510 adds a STARVIS 2 sensor but runs on a battery, so avoid it if the car sits in the summer sun.
- Best value 4K: 70mai A810S or DDPAI Z60 Pro (STARVIS 2 sensors, supercapacitor).
- 4K front AND rear: 70mai A900 Ultra or DDPAI Z90 Master: the rear plate is as clear as the front.
- Watch the car from your phone (4G): DDPAI Z60 4G set, N5 Dual 2026, N5 Pro, Z90 / Z90 Master; for 70mai add the UP04 / UP11 4G kit. You need a data SIM.
- Uber / Careem / taxi: a 3-channel camera with an infrared cabin view: DDPAI N4T Pro (value), 70mai T800 / T800 Premium, VIOFO A229 Pro 3CH (best image).
- Side scrapes and car parks: Botslab G980H with four cameras.
- Parking mode on any camera needs a hardwire or OBD cable; a supercapacitor camera survives Egyptian summer heat far better than a battery one.
